As far as I know there's no holes to screw in there's no bungs left in the pipe. also i cant see it being anything to do with the exhaust the exhaust got done 2 years ago and ive owned it for 8 months and it just started its saying the misfires on 8 its got a new plug and wire and ive swapped cops the code im getting thats the fix for misfire is the dpfe wich ive changed with no changes

After compression tests of all cylinders being near each other in compression, look to corrosion/burn marks on the ECU cover/inside, also damage to wires around motor where they may contact it or a bracket. I take it there are no codes indicating a damaged ECU. Make sure of no vacuum leak whatsoever. Misfire may be mechanical in nature, not electrical. Even bad valve spring.
Your truck is running too rich, the computer is looking for the O2 code and is heating up for two reasons. The rear O2 sensors reading the rear heat of the cats to see if they are working properly, making the truck run rich, which will heat up the exhaust, it is all one big loop. Put the sensors back on & hook them up properly, the truck will stop heating up& will not "backfire" and all should be better.
