You seem to be getting alot of codes I mite in your case start thinking the pcm is at fault. Do you have a salvage yard near you?

U need to deal with the O2's Since you have removed your Catz, or code will affect drive ability.

You can pick up a couple kits on Ebay or Amazon to screw in and raise the downstream O2's up out of the rich stream to ease of their firing and get out of the fuel loop and codes.

Do a compression test on 8 and see what you get

After compression tests of all cylinders being near each other in compression, look to corrosion/burn marks on the ECU cover/inside, also damage to wires around motor where they may contact it or a bracket. I take it there are no codes indicating a damaged ECU. Make sure of no vacuum leak whatsoever. Misfire may be mechanical in nature, not electrical. Even bad valve spring.

Default backfire

Your truck is running too rich, the computer is looking for the O2 code and is heating up for two reasons. The rear O2 sensors reading the rear heat of the cats to see if they are working properly, making the truck run rich, which will heat up the exhaust, it is all one big loop. Put the sensors back on & hook them up properly, the truck will stop heating up& will not "backfire" and all should be better.
