Real good idea. The only thing I've found in SCTs tuning forum is the transport delay needs to be changed as the O2s are located further downstream in the collectors. If you are going with a cam change you will need to modify the failed maf table if the cam causes reversion.

Well im partly on here looking for info on this, not so much horse power but fuel economy. I just installed last night an Edge power programmer on my XLT 5.4L. I wanna set it for economy but come on i gotta play with the power first lol. besides a lift and bigger tires, its a stock truck. I couldnt burnt out my offroad tires, with the programmer (not custom setting, just the normal "extreme" setting the programmer comes with) with 89 octane not the recommended 91, i was able to roast the tires. Theres a big difference in power getting on it. change shift points, rmp limiter, mph limiter. very happy with the programmer. just need to find the economy setting now lol. ive heard otherwise on some forums but the programmers manual says not to use it with and exhaust or intake kits. i was wanting to get both but hesitant now. ill call Edge today for some info.

I have an edge programmer on my 2004 f150 and code keeps coming up for my throttle actuator controller. I wonder if this is caused by the programmer or if I need to have it looked at. It just occasional shows up so I'm thinking that I'm causing it.

If it is functioning ok don't worry about it. I get ck engine lights for a moment from time to time. I wrote my own tune and it is extensively changed so I can run E85 when not made for it.

Que???? you wrote your own tune? howd you do that? or you just talking about the custom settings on the programmer changing shift points and stuff? the actuator, are you talking about the imrc (intake manifold runner control valve) ? they changed over to throttle actuator now. if its sticking open or closed i may knock loose. ive gotten both codes. $100 i got all the stuff just havent installed the new actuator yet. will really decrease mpg if stuck open. took me better than 1/4 tank to drive 12 miles when mine stuck open!! thats insanely horrible mpg.

I am not sure how you can run e85 if the truck was never meant to run it. Fuel system is different, stainless fuel lines different injectors, etc, etc. Just because you changed parameters to run it doesn't mean you should if the rest of the fuel system is not capable of handling it.

I write my own tunes since I found out some of the tricks. Working at Holley carb for many many yrs didn't hurt either. Read both of Greg Banish's books on tuning and you will see what to do and also what I did for a living at many automotive development centers. I have a program I bought from SCT that allows me to change nearly every parameter in my ECU. A 2v doesn't have an imrc but the parameter does exist in my ECU strategy.

Recyclers have all the needed parts from a flex fuel vehicle plus adding more aftermarket fuel system components as I can afford it.
