When its in neutral or park you can't here it. When you put it in gear and give it a little gas its really noticeable. Its a steady knock knock knock.

Mine is doing this as well. If you hold break, and give a little gas to 700 rpm in reverse or drive you hear it well. I took it for service at 1,400 miles. The service department says they called Ford engineering. They says its normal. They pulled 2 new trucks from the lot that made same sound. Im not happy with the sound. I hope whatever it is, breaks soon. Im going to try the dealer that i bought it from, but is far from house. Im hoping its the stretchy belt AC problem. It doesnt sound metalic in nature, but it is a knock, not a tick. So timing tensioner is not the issue.

My fix was to dump my truck. I will never buy another Ford. Not looking to start a war here, but I am happy with its replacement. No knocking. Smooth and quiet. Regardless of what ford will tell you, engine knock is not normal.

Sorry to hear about your problem. But even from the factory you can get a lemon. As far as the dealerships its hard to find one that will get the job done. I can understand your frustration about it. But it could have happened with any brand of vehicle. You not wanting to ever own a ford again well thats your choice. Ive had problems with my fords to bad ones but will be loyal to the brand I can trust. Well I wish you the best of luck.

Mine still knocks. All the dealers I've taken it to say its normal. I'm going to dump mine as soon as I can. It has 4k miles on it like new condition. Oh except the 'normal' engine knock. Any one interested in buying it?
