Default Is this 4.6 siezed

Bought a used engine out of a '98 w/auto to put in my 98 w auto, bellhousing bolted-up fine. I attached first two converter bolts to flex plate then to do the other two I attempted to turn flywheel and it won't turn. I've tried to turn the engine by the bolt on the crank pulley, maybe moved a half inch. Previous owners swear engine ran fine after accident and truck was even driven to shop before insurance total adjustment. Checked that tranny was in neutral tho it's auto; two visible flywheel bolts are not hitting anything. Is there something obvious I'm not doing? Is this engine bound-up? Will shoot wd-40 in plug holes, then maybe some Engine Release. Is there a heavy-duty tool to crank on the lower pully directly?
The thought of a seized engine is making me sick. Any help would be much appreciated.

Check to see if a bolt you put into it isn't too long locking the motor. I have to assume the torque convertor is into the trans fully. If not it could bind the crankshaft. Loosen trans to bell housing and see if it frees it up. If everything fails then you think the motor is locked? Remove your spark plugs first and try turning it over. It may be hydroloc/water in a piston, maybe a leaking manifold or head gasket. If you can't turn it over with the plugs out and off the trans you need to get the motor replaced/refunded.

You have to make sure your torque converter is fully installed. That will cause the engine to not turn over.

Ditto!,Make sure you use a torque wrench to tighten it the nuts on the ring gear, without it you can warp it. Did you use a transmission jack? It is very easy to get things out of alignment without one. You don't indicate where you live, If you have a Harbor freight tool store in your area, they have three transmission jacks. I have the 850 pound lift model. Before you think you will only use it just once this jack will do so many other things for you. believe me if you have never used one to install a transmission you will think you have died and gone to heaven, You save a tremendous time and it is so much safer. I would start all over again, with the transmission out you can then check the engine out.

I had forgotten about this you always remove the starter before you install a transmission, especially an automatic transmission. This is very important with Fords because of the way the starter drives work. they can be stuck in the forward position and will jam the ring gear. Frankly the starters on GM vehicles have always be superior in design to what Ford uses.

Bubbabud makes a good point was the engine still in the truck or was the engine sitting out in the open. As long as everything was closed up you should be all right. Drain the oil out, you are going to change it anyway, and take a look at it, it will tell you everything you need know about water in the engine.
