Default Strut/Spring orientation?

Getting ready to redo my front suspension for the 3rd time on my 2018 . I just got my Belltech height adjustable shocks and I'm thinking about pairing them with the Maxtrac 1" lowering spring. I already have the Maxtrac spindles installed.
I originally had their 3/5 kit but after adding the Whipple the front end dropped 1/2" if not more. So I'm looking to level it up.

I have new hats, isolators so I'm wanting to get the strut all together before I start tearing down the truck.

Does anyone know if there is a special orientation the strut and springs need to be?

I know you can only install the hat 1 way.
I have seen some companys mention to mark the hat and the shock and other say to draw a straight line down the entire strut unit.

I will be installing the new hats, isolators, Maxtrac 1" lowering springs and Belltech struts configured to 1/4" higher than stock.

Thanks

Herb

Default same..

Wow I'm wondering the same thing?Did you find out anything?I have Maxtrac 2" drop spindles and Maxtrac 1" drop springs(did your order sheet from maxtrac say 2" lower springs, mine did) and I haven't bought struts yet..Maxtrac says you can reuse stock but I decided to put a adjustable unit up front so I can preassembly the strut and just throw it in while suspension is apart..I'm buying new hats and stuff becasuse I work at ford and get it cheap..LMK what you come up with and i'll keep you posted..The truck is a 2018 rcsb and it is stock right now and I have all kinds of really cool stuff piling up in my living room.lol...

Any thoughts on 5100's 2wd? My truck is 2wd and if I get it all together I'd like to be able to raise it up a little..Thanks in advance..

I found some old pictures and looked at a stock truck down the street. Mine order sheet stated 1" lowering springs. I would check the part number, I got the wrong spindles sent to me when I ordered them.
I will say if you have a V8 I would not recommend the Belltech adjustable struts with the Maxtrac 2" lowering spindles and Maxtrac 1" lowering springs. I used all of the spacers provided and I rub the inner fender liners bad. It is just a way too soft setup for this truck. It rides great on smooth roads but any weight transfer or bump and I'm eating the inner fender liners.

I was going to get the Belltech coilovers but I need to raise it up move then what they allow. I will be buying a free standing strut compressor so I can try the Belltech adjustable struts with stock springs, I'm hoping I can dial it in just right with the spacers. If not I will go back to the stock strut with the Maxtrac 1" spring.

Me too,After spending a couple hours reading through posts I found no real solution...I will look tonight at my part numbers on the billing sheet and the actual box..I think I will go stock struts up front with the spindles and there lowering springs..I will probally sell the springs later on and go with Viking front coil overs and vas brackets..Just wish there was some kind of better strut I could throw in there now..I might get fox factory height front 4wd struts because that will raise it a 1" they say...

Hope ya'll figure it out. Sounds like a headache. Not sure why ya'll wouldn't use a DJM kit the front install is such a breeze .

Not a headache if you are stock. I had the DJM kit and I will always choose drop spindles over control arms. And other components are just better.
My issues are from trying to level the truck after the whipple.

Angry Maxtrac

I got my part numbers and it says: 103420 09-14 2wd 2" lowering spindles
253120 04-14 2" lowering coils v8
303150 04-14 5" rear flip kit (303160+713120)

Now im pretty confused because the kit was advertised as a k333235-ns 3/5" no shock kit for 2009-2018 2wd...
