Looking for some insight on lowering my truck. I have a 2018 F-150 Single Cab 4x4, bone stock besides a few suspension pieces (See below for current setup/new setup part list).
Was wondering if the new lowering setup I have ordered (not installed yet), will there be any issues with clearance using the current wheel/tire combo? Are 20-22" wheels necessary when lowering f-150's? Thank you in advance for any advice.
Current Truck Setup
2022 Raptor wheels 17x8.5 Offset: 34mm and Falken Wild Peak A/T 285/70/17
2" front level with stock front and rear suspension
Heavy duty front adjustable cam bolts
New setup ordered
Utilizing same wheel setup as the current setup, but swapping suspension components to the following:
- FOX 2.0 IFP rear shocks
- IHC 2015-2020 F-150 3"- 4" FRONT LOWERING CONTROL ARMS
- IHC 2015-2022 F-150 6" Flip Kit
- IHC 2015-2022 F-150 U Bolts w/ Hardware

Reason: Origionally put IHP but the comapny is actually IHC *facepalm*
Forgot to attach this tire size comparison between my current setup and a potential set of 22x9.5 +30 offset and 305/45/22. Doesn't look like much of a difference, clearance wise.
You can lower your truck on any size wheel you want, but obviously some will look better than others. I can't tell you for sure if you will have clearance issues with the Raptor wheel/tire combo on a 4/6 drop, but if I had to guess I would say yes.
I run my stock 20 x 8.5 et44 wheels in the winter with 275/55R20 Pirelli Scorpion AT Plus tires with a 1" spacer in the front and 1.25" spacer in the back, and I don't have any rubbing/clearance issues...

Hey, thank you for the advice! Truck is looking clean with the drop you have. Any noticeable drivability differences between 45mm vs 55mm sidewalls on the tires? I am mainly lowering my truck for the looks and because my new job requires a lot of highway driving. The current leveled/wheel tire setup I have on is just not cutting it for comfort. Appreciate your reply

Thank you...I don't really notice any drivability differences between the two other than one is winter and one is summer lol
If you want to keep the stock comfy ride, I wouldn't change the control arms...nothing rides like the stock bushings.
2018 4x4 2/2 drop currently - 4" flip later this month. Currently running General Grabber UHP 275/55/20 on stock Sport 20's with 1.25" BORA's on all four. Last year with this setup there was no issue. This year (now with the spacers) I have a slight rub on the front fender liner where it juts out - driver's side more pronounced. Been too lazy to pull the tire and reshape that small spot in the liner. Ride is fine and handling is great. Been from Jersey to Oklahoma twice in this and just yesterday drove 450 miles to Ohio for a business trip.
I've got a set of the stock 18's with Bridgestone tires for the winter. Those tires need to be changed out this year.

That blue is very nice on the truck. Wish I could have found my current specs with that color. Funny enough I actually just bought a set of the same sport wheels you have on, has a great OEM look to it! Thank you for the insight, this will help me figuring out tire size for the build.
