Ok, I have a somewhat weird or even dumb question possibly. I have taken measurements on my 2012 2wd (no rear block) supercrew. I already have 2" drop shackles that are not installed yet. Why you may ask? Because my truck doesn't have 2" of rake front to rear. There is only 1 1/2" of rake on mine and I do not want the rear of my truck sagging. So, now I am contemplating dropping the front 2" to go along with my drop shackles. Here is my "dumb" question. Since I am dropping the front and rear the same height, will my pinion angle remain the same as stock? I do not want any driveline vibrations at all, and that is the only thing that has held me up to this point. Just wondering what you guys think?

 

no the pinion angle won'T stay the same...but you should have any issue with a 2" rear drop.

 

No it will not stay the same. The angle is based on rear end and rear entry of driveline into trans... it is only effected with rear mods. It will be effected with 2" drop shackles. The question is how much, and will it cause the infamous vibration. I suggest using the fordracing shackles or Groundforce. Groundforce makes them for Ford. They come with shims to keep pinion same. Also they have two usable holes. The inner one is a 1.5 ish drop and the outter one the full 2". And they are usable... some brands have two holes, or what appears to have 2, but they are not usable as the shackle housing is to close so bolt will not fit.

Idon't see why you have to stick with Ground Force, simply because they come with shims. You can get shims in a number of places. Ground Force does need to be applauded for providing them though. Agree with the rest.
