Default Lowering and handling options

I just picked up a 2020 KR Screw, with FX4 package. The truck is far more boat like than I had anticipated, and the side to side body movement has to go.

I thought about doing a Maxtrac 2/4, but want to be able to use my stock 20s for awhile, so spindles are out, as far as I'm aware. So that leaves me with 2" shackles and front struts. I know that I'd get .5" more drop with the Ford 2WD struts (does anyone know the part number for these?), vs Bilsteins, or other options, but I'd be willing to take the higher ride height, if it meant I could get a better handling truck.

So my main question is which struts, and accompanying components (rear shocks, traction bar, etc) should I order, to get the drop, and the best handling?

How low do you want to go?

One thing I recommend in all cases is a rear stabilizer bar.

Not too low. Something like this is where I'd like to be:

I believe I can get there with just a rear shackle and 2wd struts (depending on which struts). But am most interested in what will get me here, with the best handling.

Good handling typically comes from stiffer struts/shocks. OEM would not give you what you are looking for given their compromise for all users. Also, remember that the rear leaf spring suspension will always make it feel "like a truck."

In your case, you could just order the 2WD fox struts and rear shocks, remove the blocks and change the shackle (multiple mfgs, up to 2" I believe - some need bed modification). You could also go the same route with BIlstein depending on your budget. Which one handles better is always up to the user. My preference in this case would be Fox.

Just a better set of shocks should help with the floaty feel, but if you want to go lower you can always do as you mentioned with the shackles and such.

I like the handling of mine with 2wd Bilsteins and the 1.5" Maxtrac rear shackle (& rear block removed). Still would like to get the Hellwig rear sway bar but have yet to find a deal to sway me in that direction (pun intended). I do now have the Roadmaster Active Suspension in the rear which raised the rear up a bit, so debating on how to correct and if I want to do a 2" shackle now (just dont like the idea of cutting the bed supports).

Here is my truck with the aforementioned 2wd/1.5" + rear block removal. Keep in mind the larger 20's should fill in the wheel well more like the above blue example.

Did you go with the 4600s, or 5100s, up front?

Did the RAS change the feel/driving dynamics, that you remember? And how much did it lift the rear?

I am heavily considering the Hellwig, as it doesn't seem to reduce ground clearance, from what I could see.

Much appreciated. I know I won't get close to my sports cars, but even compared to the 99 F250 I used to have, this feels like a floaty boat. XD

Would you mind sharing which part numbers for the fox struts/shocks? Most of the ones I see look more like they would lift it, but I may just be looking in the wrong places.

I feel like the below would work...? Simply set the fronts to 0.

Thanks.

I wish I could find anyone who has run the fronts at 0, and taken measurements. I know there is a difference in drop between the ford 2wd strut, and the bilsteins, but can't find any info on the Foxes.

I have 2wd 4600s up front. To my knowledge though, it should be the same length as the 5100 set to the lowest setting.

The RAS firmed up the rear ever-so-slightly, but made the overall handling better as well. It seems to have lifted the rear about 0.5" - 0.75" when set to the lower (softer) setting (for the standard RAS. RAS also makes a "heavy duty" version which may be different).
