Default Belltech Drop spindles

Does anyone have experience running the 2352 Belltech drop spindles? I'm wanting to do a 2/4 or 3/5 drop and would much rather use spindles for the 2" portion upfront. I have looked at the Maxtrac kit/spindles, but understand that I would need 22s with no more than 6" backspacing. I'd need to run stock rims for a bit first, so that is all that is keeping me from pulling the trigger on the Maxtrac, and according to Belltech these just require 20s or bigger. Can anyone running these confirm this? Thanks in advance.

They list 20” or larger but not specific backspacing. Here is the link https://www.belltech.com/catalog/pro.../category/165/. They are also 2wd only whereas Maxtrac is 2 or 4wd. I would call them to verify specifics. Maxtrac is 20” or larger and to use certain 20” or 22” you must cut the lower control arm bolt. To use my stock 20’s I had to cut a good amount off the LCA bolt.

Thanks for the info! I'd like to run my stock 20s for as long as possible without having to do trimming or cutting.

Interesting, first I've seen of these Belltech spindles. They don't look like they are milled in the center bore to accept the CV shaft and there are no holes for the IWE's to thread into, so they most definitely look 2wd only. I can't imagine that trimming of the lower ball joint stud wouldn't be necessary unless you ran 24" wheels or bigger. They look nearly identical to the Maxtrac ones. I have the Maxtrac's and run 22x10 +30 offset (6.7 backspacing) and had to trim maybe 1/4" off the lower ball joint stud to avoid hitting.

If you could run 20's or higher w/o trimming anything, I think that'd be a big plus for them. I also see that you can re-use the factory dust shield whereas with Maxtrac, you can't. I was disappointed not being able to re-use them. I feel Maxtrac could have come up with some way to re-use them, they just took the easy way and opted not to. The one big knock for these Belltech's are that they are made of iron vs aluminum like MT. I'll take the aluminum any day over iron and is enough for me to pick the MT. If you have 4wd, your decision should be pretty easy lol.

I'm RWD. Guess I need to decide if I want to save and do rims and drop at same time, or be cool with trimming. Rims are just crazy expensive.

Well, I can tell you that with the Maxtrac kit, they supply you with a thinner profile ball joint nut to use if you end up trimming a lot off. That is mostly for folks wanting to run 20’s. Some have used it no problem, but I certainly wouldn’t be comfortable using it because it just doesn’t look or feel like a nut you would want to use for a ball joint. One user just mentioned the nut threads stripped out when he was torquing it down.

If you had 22’s, Id say no worries because you can just reuse the factory nut. The other way to look at it is this... it’s just a ball joint stud you’re trimming. They are easy and cheap to replace at a later date
