It's not like the touchy accelerator of the brand new trucks these days. But for a 16 year old truck with 190,xxx I would say its pretty touchy.

You're fine. Don't worry about that youtube. Remember that I can post a video that says peeing in your gas will give you better mpg...

I did. It will not affect mileage in the slightest. It just allows the throttle butterfly to open all the way.

All this means is that, for a given throttle setting, you will have to push your pedal 1 inch instead of 1.5.

Yes but before its done, with the given slack, fully pressing down the accelerator will not open it all the way. So that means that cruising will most likely not be open all the way...probably restricting performance.

What I meant was, with slack that prevents you from hitting true WOT, you're theoretically using less gas, thus your MPGs are better... insignificantly better, but still.

I know after I did mine I'm a lot smoother on the throttle because I'm not having to push as much it to get more gas, It lets control the throttle a lot better. I don't have as much shifts where it revs up because I'm fine tuning a little more I guess. May just be a placebo on my mind but it seems to drive much better throttle wise.
