Why does every argue about this? It's obvious if it too tight because the engine will rev without pushing on the petal...

The thing about is that this only happens when you're coming off the cruise, otherwise it idles just fine. My concern is the change in shifting patterns not so much the cruise though. iirc I said something about taking one off and seeing the results, no need for hostility...

Just did this last night. Holy cow, what a difference! Now, when I floor it the truck is really being floored.

It took two big zip ties and three little ones for my cable.

Wasn't trying to be hostel about it? The only thing u done was took slack out of a Manuel throttle cable. The truck has no idea u even done it. It's not connected to anything other then the pedal and the flap. If u got the cable to tight it's like your pushing the throttle all the time. Is it idling higher then normal? If its not idling high then it's not to tight.

Just did it to mine. 5 small ties to get it tight. That is more than I put on my 95 Bronco, only had to put 3 on it. Seemed to help some. When you floor it.

10 years of gas pedal wear fixed in less that 5 minutes. Its amazing how much difference a few zip ties or fishing weights can make... Its amazing how much power i was missing...

It idles fine, but when you come off the cruise it blips the rpms instead of dropping like normal. I was just curious if anyone else had a similar issue, I'm well aware of throttle cable adjustment theory, I just didn't see the need for the tone. Guess that's the problem with text though, maybe it only sounded that way when I read it...
