What exactly is an XLT? my 97 f150 4.6 v8 is an XLT and i have no idea what it means, seeing how it it flareside singlecab, i dont find anything extra large which is the only thing i could think of hahaha

 

XLT is a trim level


XLT means power everything and towing package... power windows,locks,with towing package also with temp display

 

dang! mine must be to old to have the temp display? how can you tell if you have the towing package, because if the towing packages brings temp display and i dont have it, how can i tell if i do? thanks a lot man!

It's how they describe the package deals to include trim and interior. Differences usually include rims, shocks, type of interior......

If you have the hitch receiver under the bumper its got a towing package if not it will have the hitch coming out of the bumper itself

 

Unless someone before you added it. The tow packave also has a transmission cooler I believe? Correct me if I'm wrong. Cause mine has a time cooler and under bumper hitch.

XL-XLT-Lariat-King Ranch/Harley Davidson are the trim levels. The higher you go the more options you have. Each XLT is different though. I've seen some that are just plain. Some are pretty nicely optioned.
