Default Wouldnt start

Hey y'all,
I put the key in and turned it, the gauges lit up and radio turned on and fuel pump engaged. Turned it to start and dead... It all went black and turned off. The door chimer started and stopped repetitively and the radio beeped like it shut off. It wouldnt start. So I unhooked the battery and plugged it back in. Started right up. What's the problem?
Thanks y'all.

Sounds like a "loose" connection at the battery, and I use the term "loose" as a catch all for a connection at the battery that was repaired by removing and reinstalling the battery terminals when there appears to be no other issues.

Alright I wire brushed the terminals to clean off any oxidized metal and tighten them on so hopefully it won't happen any more

You don't often clean the connections at the battery!!

Just kidding, bet we have all guilty of this one.

Did it again this morning. It all flickered when I turned the key to start. Got out n unplugged the negative and pugged it back on. Started right up. Found too that the windows go down n up without the key being in the ignition. Is it a computer problem?

Ok something is getting reset when you disconect and reconect the battery, also on some newer Fords after you turn the key off and before you open the door you can use the power windows and radio. I would look at the negitive wire at the battery connection. Hope this helps.

Alright will do. The windows work even if I go to get in for the first time in the morning and have yet to put the key in at all.

if you re-wire the power window fuse in the fusebox you can make it so that the power windows have an always on power wire.. It may have been done before you bought it. Are your terminals tight on the posts? clean your posts and the terminals real well and make sure there is nothing in between them..
