Won't start/stalling!!!
I have a 2000 5.4L V8 f150. Lately it's been stalling while in mid drive. It's not giving any cel light and it's not over heating. Put on new fuel filter cause it starts but then it idles rough and low then stalls out. When i did change the filter it was really dirty so how can i clean out my gas tank without dropping it? Changed fuel pump 2yrs ago. I've also noticed it does it more after a long drive or if I get stuck in traffic. Please someone help because this is my only vehicle to get around in.

There is a tube that goes up from your drivers side exhaust manifold and the peice it connects to is the egr valve. The line coming straight out the top is a vacuum line. With the truck running, pull that line off and put a peice of rubber hose or something on it and suck on it real hard. (don't worry you won't get anything in your mouth) The truck should stall out immediately. If it doesn't then its sticking open or the tubes are clogged.

I thought about that as well but if it was tha IAC when I held my foot on the gas it would stay on and not stall out right? Like old school, I could drive by keeping my foot on the gas and throw it in neutrel at stop lights but it won't stay on at all with my foot on the gas which is leading in the direction of fuel filter (just changed0 Fuel Pump (changed about 2 yrs ago) I know I have bad gas cause when I changed the fuel filter it was really dirty. Put some seafoam gas treatment and filled up with 93 Chevron at $4.15 a gal!!! I pray it helps because my mechanic said I might have to drop gas tank and have it cleaned out. Also going to clean throttle body and EGR.
C'mon..... I know someone has had this happen. What else other than the egr or cleaning the throttle body? Because the the throttle body isn't bad at all. And how exactly does the egr work that it will cause the truck to run this way?
