My truck has decided she does not want to go in reverse! I use the gear shift like normal and the dash indicators say she is in reverse

But when I then hit the gas all I get is engine rev sounds and no motion backwards (or forwards)

Any ideas what my problem is?

Sorry about the bump, but its been working its way down the page, and Im very worried about this

 

The solenoid could be bad. Have you changed the tranny fluid recently? Possible bad clutch? Best bet would be to call a transmission guy and tell him whats up. May possibly need a new transmission...
