Default Windshield tint limit

Any idea what the windshield tint limit is on 03 F150? TX law says '5in or AS1, whichever is less' and MO law says 'Factory or aftermarket equivalent'

I cant seem to find any markings on my windshield to indicate where the AS1 line is supposed to be though

Well do you live in TX or MO? Look on your passenger side windshield about 3 inches from the top there should be an AS1 line there.

your windshield should already have a shade in it from the factory, that is the legal limit...

Here in WI you can have as dark of tint as you want above the AS1 line.

Thats wierd...check the drivers side too there, maybe I was wrong about the side its on? I wonder if that is a replacement windshield and it didnt have it on there. I guess go by the 5" rule. The only problem I have had with tint around Madison was with state troopers on a main highway and got pulled over twice there. So now I avoid that whole road and take the back way. Its mainly the side tint that they are **** about though.

somtimes, depending on the body style and build date, Ford may or may not have put a shaded windshield in the truck.. i always go back with a shade for obvious reasons.. i didn't think you had a factory windshield still because of how old the truck is..

I called up the auto parts store I went to in MO to ask if they had any idea and they recommended a local tint shop instead of doing it myself, said it would only cost about twice as much and come with a warranty

It makes me wonder how they manage to sell any of their home tit kits if they are recommending people not use them, they have a rack full

The visor strips only cost $30 here to get done at a tint shop, doing all the windows costs quite a bit. So doing all the windows yourself is a better deal as long as you know what your doing.
