Default Winch location / will it work?

I found a 12k lbs winch on CL for 200 bucks. My question is where would I mount it? Some people are saying mount it to the grille guard, I have no problem removing the KC's, but I don't know if my grille guard will handle and more than a couple hundred pounds. Where the license plate is it is hollow, I just have the wires for the KC's running in there.

If your gonna keep your grille guard I would try to make a mount on the lower bar and not the one with lights on it. You could try to mount it like mine and see if you can keep you guard on.

Pick up a warn hidden mount. You should be able to keep your grill guard.

I bought a winch mount plate from harbor frieght and made my own... It was 60 bucks and took about 1 hour.... Pay no mind to the guy working on my truck hahaha it was snowing cold and i talked him into putting my bumper on while I sat in the truck...

Lol ty, unfortunately the repair bill was a bit more pricy for me than I expected, so no winch as of yet.

yeah it's mounted where tow hooks are, I can get a pic tomorrow if you would like. Great thing about warn mount is I didn't have to cut all that much of my bumper to get it all to fit.

Same with my 97. You dont have to trim hardly anything. If you use a Haas fairlead IE synthetic rope you dont have to cut anything..

It didn't bother me cutting my valance... But I could have done a better job. I cut to much off on the right side... I could have made it a lot tighter of a fit if I had marked it... I honestly just eyeballed it and took a jig saw to it.
