Question will only move in reverse

Up until last night my '98 f150 was running fine. Now it will only move in reverse. It doesn't have the factory motor, we swapped it out for a 4.6 out of a Lincoln but that was months ago and everything has been fine until now. What could possibly be the problem, or where is a good place to start troubleshooting? We have checked fluid levels and all the fuses. Any and all input is appreciated.

Mine woudn't move in any gear about 140,000 miles ago, 8 or 9 years. It was an E40D/4R100 tho. Cleaned all the clutch material out of the accumulator bodies, installed a Transgo "Tugger" kit, topped it off with amsoil and she's still goin @ 319,000 miles.

Not saying that will work for you, but it might.

That's good!

I'd see what's available in town and around first tho. -

Car-Part.com

Then go from there. Depends upon how much cash I wanted to dump on it.

The shifting linkage has been off since the motor swap can this be part of my problem? If so what do I look for.
