Default Will this engine work for me?

I have a 2001 F 150 with the 4.2 liter a guy near me has this motor, 2000 Ford F-150 4.2L V6 OHV 12 Valves Triton - VIN '2' 8th digit - Block Casting number RF-XF2E-AD, will this engine work for me? He says that his computer says no. Second opinion?

It'll fit, and it'll work no problems. If the vacuum routing is a little different, just use your existing. In fact, IF anything is different, use your existing. Won't be much if any. The 2000 engine has more compression, power and torque vs the 01, but you probably won't notice.
