Default Fuel pumps

How dependable are our fuel pumps. I'm over 100,000 and curious as to how long it might last. I know it is a roll of the dice but I'd like a ball park figure.

around 200,000 or so. My dad had his replaced at 230,000 just because he had the tank strap recall done

..... just to get an opinion. My '98 (~212,000 miles) runs great except that several days ago after running & making several stops, it would not start, just cranked. I didn't think to listen for the pump at the filler neck as I was in a hurry. About an hour later it started fine and has continued to start and run fine since. Original fuel pump, should I just go ahead and replace or are there other things I should check first. Also, if pump replacement is recommended, what manufacturer do y'all respect? I'd like a Motorcraft but cheapest I could find is about $350. A Bosch complete sender is only $155 on Amazon. Thanks for any input!!

90,000 is a the FP's average. Really depends upon you treat it. Like keeping the tank above 1/4 full and how much you change the filter. Should be at least every 3rd oil change.

So could be any time now, but wait for it.
