Considering my Harley weighs 4,900lbs with me in it and I've deleted a lot of s h I t, and I was weighed on a cat scale.

And most lightnings weigh 4,800-5,200lbs... From what I've seen.

I'd love to see proof, and not hear say from anyone...
I went back to the link I posted earlier and... what he said is actually true... the link is for the 03 150s, but still same gen. In a couple cases a 4wd ex. cab can weigh about 4800 lbs. Plus their source for info IS Ford...

Maybe so, I just want to see proof, anything else doesn't have much meaning to me. I've seen too many trucks actually weighed... To be honest ive seen ford having crazy things going on, from all actuality. Just saying, not trying to be a d I c k! Just straight up.

I understand 4r100 vs 4r70

Then there's 4x4 vs 2x4, that's an extra transfercase/d-s/and front end.

I'd like to see, single cab 6 or v8 2x4 and 4x4

Same with ex-cab and screw. Just for comparisons...

I plan on having my ex-cab in the low 6,000's but that has no real reason for info at all.

Here's a chart from another Forum that pretty much says it all.

I believe our hoods are aluminum as well. Or at least mine is anyway, a magnet doesn't stick to it. My in-laws had a 2000 expedition and the electrolysis paint system on the hood started flaking away causing it to look like rust, but not.

You guys are confusing the GVWR on the door sticker with curb weight. For example my 2005 screw has a GVWR of 7200 pounds but the actual curb weight is around 5800 pounds. The GVWR is how much your truck CAN weight including passengers and cargo. Subtract your curb weight from the GVWR and you have your payload rating. BTW, the newer (04+) trucks actually tend to be heavier then the previous gens due to the much stouter frame and more cab structure.

Man, you need to lose some weight, fordtec!

Plus, I don't think they must be so heavy, a lot of guys here are lifting their trucks. I tried, but could not budge the thing! It must weigh a ton!

Oh me, what's wrong with me today...

I'm with kozal on this. If you have ever lifted the tailgate on a newer model truck, your presumptions may be, "this truck is so light". But in reality, the frame and cab structure of the newer model's weighs in at quite a bit more than ours. Also, the newer model supercabs are larger inside, and the structural integrity is quite a bit more dense.

Also note: The newer model's have 6 speed auto's which can add weight even though their enginge (5.0 etc ) may be a tab bit smaller and have an aluminum block.
