Who Has The Most Miles On Their Truck?
Hey everyone I'm looking to get some longevity opinions.
The reason I'm posting in this section and not the 2009 + section is that you guys have first hand experience dealing with older trucks.
I have a 2011 5.0 and it has about 42,000km (26,250ish miles) on it. I love the truck and am planning on keeping it for the long haul. I am wondering what sort of miles you guys have on your trucks?
I'd like to keep the truck for 10 years but by then I could have have as many as 400,000km on it.
My questions are: do you guys see that kind of mileage being a possibility? What sort of major maintenance have you guys had to do to your higher mileage trucks? Is it worth pushing for that kind of mileage or would I be better off getting rid of the truck at say 250,000km or something?
I'm pretty **** about routine maintenance and keep my vehicles in good shape. I tow and haul occasionally with the truck but its mostly a daily driver (70% highway). The only off road driving it sees is in and out of the family hunt camp a few times a year and even that is little more then a roughed up dirt road. I don't beat on it either. This is my first F150 so I don't have any personal experience with these trucks on a long term basis.
Any opinions you guys could offer would be great!

My truck has 150,000 on it. I've never had any major issues, just keep up with basic maintenance. I have beat the crap out of mine for all 150,000 miles and it still runs perfect. I don't know about the longevity of that 5.0, but I know the 4.6 that is in my truck is known for being bulletproof. My family has 3 Ford's all with 100,000+ miles and we've only had to replace the V10 in our excursion which has been our only big issue. I think your aspiration for that many miles and keeping it that long are completely realistic. I love my truck. It's a 1997 F150 4x4 with the 4.6.

My dads 01 F150 crew cab has 290,000 miles on it and only thing major thats been replaced was the 4x4 motor. He drives all the time as a general contractor and still pulls our 21' travel trailer.

My dads 5.4 expedition had 280k on it when I wrecked it lol. The only thing that went wrong was the trans at 220 cause we lived in the Texas hill country and it had the original trans fluid in it!

I have a 98 5.4 2wd truck that has 228,xxx on it, it's been in my family since 70,000.
Since the 70,000 the AC compressor went out at 85,000
I've had to replace the ball joints once
Brakes and rotors several times
Plugs and coils twice
And the water pump went out right at 200,000
