Default Where to connect the "reverse" wire????

Hey guys, I am in the process of installing a new double din in dash dvd player in my 02 SCrew and need a little help. Overall the wiring is pretty simple, but I am confused as to what I should do with the brown "reverse" wire coming from the head unit. I AM running a backup camera, so I know I need to utilize the wire, I just don't know where it should go. Any help is much appreciated!

In my truck I ran it to my running lights because I don't usually use them and so I can use it running down the road but there is a reverse wire under the dash

Any idea what that reverse wire looks like or how to find it? I read in a previous thread that there is a black wire with a pink strip behind the driver's side kick panel, but that was for a 2007 f150.

You will have to find the wiring diagram for your year model truck, black/pink is for 05-08. I know for mine I was never able to get ahold of the diagram, so I ran a wire from the radio all the way to the reverse light it self because it was quicker and easier for myself. I tied into the power side and set the radio up accordingly.

I looked all thru my service schematic and couldn't find the wire color you want. I need another wiring service manual. lol. You can check the switch on the side of the transmission to see which one comes on when you are in reverse. You could tap there, but that is a long run of wire. If you found which color it was there, it should mate up at the connector for the same color or you could see what it branches off too.

Just my 2 cents, but why not hook it to just a hot lead with a rocker switch. This way whenever you need it to come on, just flip the switch. I know if I'm out checking on some cattle and want to backup in a field I don't really need a camera to see the fecal matter I'm backing over. Or you can turn it on at any time. Like on the road "what the heck did I just run over? Oh, let me flip my switch and take a look without backing up."

Most double din touch screen use a reverse trigger to automatically switch video input. Then anytime you want to see the rear camera just touch the icon for rear camera

It is black/pink. I used that wire for a project I did. Its the smaller out of the two located in the passenger side kick panel. If you want me to get a pic of which wire, just let me know.

A pic and any additional information you have would be awesome! I found a black/pink wire on the drivers side kick panel, so I'd love to see what you located!

The first pic is the wire I spliced into for the reverse lights, black with a pink stripe. Second one is more of an expanded view. The plug with the right wire is the black one behind the grey plug. Let me know if that works for ya.
