Question Wheels...I know...

I know there's about 8 million posts about wheel/tires sizes but I would just like a bit of help with mine. I bought 4 new Cooper P265/75 R16 LT tires recently and want to keep these tires. i just installed some fender flares after fixing some recent "rust issues" on the rear qtrs and they covered that up. Problem is that the stock wheels looked way to "set in" then. I took the cheap way and bought some 2" wheel spacers off ebay and put them on only to have vibration issues....(should've known better). So, what Im looking for is a wheel width that will give the same look as with the spacers (wider) while still using my 265/75 tires?? Im still confused what to get after looking at the "wheels 101" posting on here. Any help is appreciated...Thanks

Our wheels are inset by about 14mm so if you find some -36mm 16x8s you would be set but honestly I would look into some bora spacers. Those are pretty much the only trusted brand ppl on here will use.

oh no no no, eBay spacers are a huge NO, Did you use the acorn lug nuts? That's your vibration if not. Ya but honestly your playing a dangerous game with those. You really have to shell out a pretty penny for quality spacers. Also which fender flares did you get? I can help lol

Heres a pic of the truck today with the cheap spacers still on. They put the wheels right where they should be I think.

right on, well I'll tell you why you have a vibration, those wheels are made for the flat lug nuts, which you can not use with spacers. You'll need the acorn nuts to get rid of that. (Had that issue with those wheels long ago) the spacers you ordered are 99% likely to not have the hub centric lip that your factory hub has that keeps the wheel true blah blah blah, so your options are to go to a wider wheel, -38 as suggested will give you a little more than what you have now, (25mm) and put you close to even with the flares. Orrrr the less desirable option is to get bora hub centric spacers, they're the best you can really buy, however with any mass produced product their are lemons so it can't be guaranteed they won't cause an issue. With that being said I've run them all from 1" to my current 3" spacer setup with great results. Make sure to torque and retorque them if you decide to go that route. Great looking truck by the way.

Thanks 02. So do you think that a 8" wide wheel will work best with my tires? Are the tires too narrow for use on a 8.5 or 9" wide wheel? Im gonna go with the wheels as it looks like the Bora spacers are pretty pricey.

You can do a 9" but I honestly think that's pushing it with a 265. If you can find an 8-8.5 with your desired offset then I would probably go that way.

If you want your wheels to sit where your spacers are you will need about -36mm offset. Your current wheels are +14 and your spacers are -49 so put them together and you are left -35mm.
