Default wheel weight question

so today i cleaned my truck for the first time in about 2 months and i noticed im missing the wheel weight on the front passenger tire. lately ive also noticed when traveling on the interstate at 75 80 mph it has a little more vibration/shake to it than the norm. and it now pulls slightly to the right. had an alignment done not too long ago either.

could this be from losing that weight somewhere? if so can i just buy a new one and put it on?

Losing the weight may have lead to what you're experiencing.

You can replace the weight as long as you know the exact weight that was displaced (lost). If they're stock wheels, stay away from the stickies. With a 16" wheel, you'll be cutting it very close when driving, and if mounting the wheels back on the truck, you have a higher likely hood of losing a few.

You can take it back to where the weights were put on, many places will do free balance and rotation if you got it done there the first time.

You can look into dynabeads for balancing. There are also alternatives (brands as well as ideas such as airsoft pellets )

i do not kno the brand or anything of the weights but you can tell the size of it cuz theres a mark from where it was. they're the 17 inch rims from ford with the fx4 package. there weights were put on when the tires were and they were brand new when i got the truck a year and a half ago, so i dont really wanna pay someone to balance it again if i could just get another one the same size from advanced of napa or somewhere.

yea thats your shake. Just go it it balanced, its cheap. I balance & rotate mine once a year (i put on like 8k a year is all), tho i do it myself for free but it should still be done. Rotate every 10k and balance every 20k or when needed.

I'm with jayson. Just go pay $8 -$12 for somebody to do it. It's cheap if they mess it up you can make them fix it. If you do it yourself then you are on the hook for repairs or do-overs.

I agree! Have the wheels balanced properly. It's a good idea to do this every so often anyway. Balance does change over the life of the tire. An unbalanced wheel is hard on the tire, the suspension and the steering components.
