I dont follow. From what I understand, a spacer is just that, you keep the same bolt pattern, it bolts up to the factory studs, then bolt your wheel to it, adapters just adapt your factory bolt pattern to another bolt pattern, do this so you can run different wheels that dont come in the factory bolt pattern. if you keep it with the same pattern.....thats a spacer...

I agree with you, I was thinking the exact same thing. If your keeping the same pattern then it's a spacer.

No, you're right.... there are different kinds of spacers out there (some are literally just like big shims that you put over your existing bolt pattern and then put your wheel on (they don't have pressed in lugs or anything), but these should be limited to 1/2 inch or less and aren't what we're talking about or terribly safe for trucks...I think technically we're talking about the same thing. I've got motosport-tech adapters that change the bolt pattern and they work great, but you can get adapters that don't change the bolt pattern but push the wheels out however far, and i we'd call them spacers .... anyway, cheers

My only regret is that I didn't buy thicker ones. I have 1 inch spacers/adaters. My rims are 18mm offset, and the 1" spacer makes them -7mm. Brings my tires out "just" past the fenders. Wish I'd gone for a little more negative offset.
