They dont have to go under it to see that your tires are sticking out.

Bottom line is who cares if the tires stick out as long as they don't extend farther than the side view mirrors

And do you really think that ticket will stand? For driving with tires sticking out 2" lol
And your saying its okay for cargo to stick out from the pasenger side of the bed but not 2 inches lol if so I should of gotten a huge ticket since I live next to a police department INFACT the police department has the highflood water trucks and those tires stick out as well lol are they breaking the law as well?

I know here in Canada where I'm at, they've given tickets for wheels sticking out past the fender, but most guy just add some fender flares or those mud flaps with the long part that stick out the fender to cover the tire

Like I said I've been running them for about a year with zero problems I do a lot of interstate driving and rough back roads......and to answer your question above OP mine are 1.5"... And to my knowledge it is not illegal to have the tires sticking out unless its quite excessive.. I know guys running 14" wide rims and hasn't had issues with police so I highly doubt you'll will have anything said to you about spacers.

I have 2" spacers, needed them to fit Lightning wheels with almost 6" of backspace when my suspension requires 4" of BS....

Default They are safe if you buy the right thing

Wheel spacers and adapters often get confused. A spacer I wouldn't recommend. A wheel adapter to the same bolt pattern would be fine. You could go as much is 2 inches maybe more with the right wheel adapter. I'm running 1.5 inches hub centric Wheel adapters and they work great. Never had a problem.
