Default What is this wire?

I have recently began daily driving my 2002 f150 after about a year of sitting. Would start each week, but not drive much. I now drive it about 30 miles a day. 6 months ago I pulled a nest from it, and it obviously had some rodents living in the engine bay. I repaired a few lines they chewed through and didn’t think much of it. Tonight will looking in the engine bay I noticed this wire chewed to pieces. The truck runs great with no codes. 4x4 kicks in just fine. What does this wire do? It’s obviously a ground of some sort. But what does it ground? Pulled this photo off internet and circled bolt in question. Thanks everyone!

The circled ground is G102 which is the ground for the following circuits: AC clutch, cruise servo, wiper motor, underhood lamp, plus a few other items depending on engine and transmission (information not provided).

Planning to ASAP. Does it run into that thick harness? It’s hard to tell. It looks like it runs into there and I’m assuming I’ll need to split that open to find the loose end that this ground attaches to. Just haven’t been able to dig into it yet. Thank you for the assistance. It’s hard to find information online and this resource helps a ton!

The wire for G102 goes into a harness and eventually comes to a splice. That's all the detail that's in the schematics.

Unfortunately, that means you'll have to open up the harness' wrapping to find it.

Here's the drawing from 2003. Probably about the same. Looks like it's right below. It doesn't travel far after it leaves the harness. Looks like right after the wheel speed sensor bundle comes out.

Looks like a common ground to me...I'm sure if you search the nearest harness it will be the only black wire in the harness, and, more importantly, you shouldn't have to break open the harness. Just look for breaks in the outer insulation and you'll likely see the other end of it soon enough. Strip, insert heat shrink before joining, join, solder, heat up heat shrink, finish with electrical tape...rinse repeat for any other breaks you find...
