Default what is this part called???

There Is a part on my front differential that cracked and is leaking oil. It looks like a housing. If you get under the truck its on the Passenger side, on the right side of the differential and the left side of my CV axle. (its connecting these two parts) Does anyone know what this part is called or how much this costs to replace?

Are you referring to the axle housing?

Yeah I think so, is there a specific name for it, or just the housing

Easier to buy a complete diff than just the extension housing.

Yeah just search Craigslist, when I hit my front diff on a rock and put a hole in the cover I picked up a complete diff with 2 good cv shafts (always handy to have around if you 4x4) for 100$

Make sure you get one with teh same gear ratio as the one you're replacing. Otherwise you'll tear up your transfer case.
