Between my exhaust cai n programmer I can get 17mpg city n highway is like 20 at 70 but this is also letting the truck shift under 2k with a 91 octane tune I honestly didnt see a difference between economy mode n performance in mpg so I left it on performance

I would like to actually see some dyno numbers. I'd be willing to bet that an Edge doesn't add more than 10 hp with the 91 octane tune. With the improvement in throttle response, and the improvement in the shifting, it feels like 50 according to the buttdyno.

Anybody have any dyno numbers????

Bill at PHP lists the Edge's power numbers as follows: Trans only: 0, Towing: 8 hp/10 tq, and Performance 15 hp/ 25 tq. You can probably get the dyno sheets from him if you really wanted to see the curves. That's for the 97-03 canned tunes, custom tunes will net slightly more.

I have a hard time believing any claims above 10 hp from a canned tune. Even with full bolt ons on mustangs most people don't see more than 15 or so hp to the wheels with a Dyno tune... Canned tunes just plain aren't aggressive enough in the global fuel setting and timing to not only increase gas mileage but net notable power. The best experiences iv had with tuning was all 100 percent custom. If you get a tuner, get it dyno tuned...but dont expect much, especially with a truck grind set of cams.

If it adds any power then in theory it should be able to increase mileage. But as some have said the added power can tempt one to get on the gas more. I am doing some "hyper-mileing" stuff to see how much that helps. Seeing some peoples results I would be stocked with 15mpg in town.

I've done the Gotts mod with a drop in k&n filter open exhaust Edge cs programmer and I've seen as much as four extra mpg. Future plans are underdrive pulleys and e-fans to bump up the mpg.
