Default What to do?

Hey all, mostly just talking this through my head, but I would appreciate all feedback. I have a '97 extended cab 4x4 with 151K on the odometer. I have a one year old son and as you can imagine, getting him in and out of the driver's side is a pain in the butt. I only have the third door option on my truck. Been debating of going to a supercrew, but I like the 04-08 models of the supercrew better so upgrading would be spending a lot more money. The nice thing about my truck is that is is paid for. I need to spend some money on my truck if I want to keep it; plugs, wires, brakes, fluid changes, and a few other minor things. I also would do some customizing. All this would probably run me close to 2K. What do you think I should do? I really like my truck and can live getting my son in and out, but it would be easier to have the supercrew. All feedback appreciated.

Thanks.

I was kinda in the same situation where I was looking at needing about 2k worth to keep it going strong. I looked at spending 2k to keep my current one going probably another 5 years or more, or 15k+ for a different ride. I put the money into the current truck but I don't have the kid to contend with. I'd say if you're planning on ever having another kid or will get tired of the door, go and get the screw. In the long run it'd be worth it.

i own a regilar cab 150 and put my son in the front where no air bags where so its not so bad but depending on where you are at i did not have the finances to purchase another truck.today my son is 7 and still drive the same truck w/ little problem.sounds like you have a decent truck i would put the money in the current ride you have and save on the truck payment and higher car insurance

Get a caper and bolt the car seat in the bed of the truck. Just kidding.

Thanks all for your input. My truck is great and we have been through alot. I am thinking about keeping it and just doing some extra mods after the base stuff is fixed. Don't really want a truck payment, not that I can't afford it, just don't want one. It's just one more thing the "man" has on you when you make payments. Unless I can find a screw that I can pay cash for I think I might just keep my truck and slowly put the money into it. It runs great and I have no complaints, thanks all for your feedback.
