Ok so I was going through some of the paperwork for my truck and noticed on the title that it’s titled as a 3/4ton...? Anyone know why? It’s just a 2wd 02 xlt supercrew with a 5.4

How many lugs are your wheels? Does your truck say 7700 on it?

Your payload is >= 1,500 lbs?

It could be that simple depending on how your locale sees it.

An SCrew definitely isn’t a 7-lugger in this generation.

Some guys call the Scab a Supercrew. That's why I asked.

It is the 5x135 lug pattern, it does have overload springs on it though. Has a bigger rear end also.

Texans like to say everything is bigger in Texas! Then again Red Skelton said Texas is just miles and miles of miles and miles! Every time I get titles or plates in the mail there is always a letter with it that says to read and verify the information for errors.

I have heard of “heavy halves” before but didn’t think Ford made them other than the 7700. Could the truck possibly have been a special order by the original? I am the second owner of it and unfortunately I can’t ask the previous as they are no longer with us.

that 7700 will be on the tailgate (unless it's been changed) also you will have 7 lug axles all around...
that year should have a 3.73 rear axle ....my 07 had a 4.10 rear ...my 13 has a 3.73 rear axle....

It’s not a 7700, does not have any badges that say so or the 7 lug axles. Just throws me off as to why the suspension is heavier than a normal F-150 and the rear diff is bigger as well
