Default Weird noise!!!

I have a 2000 5.4 v8 ext cab flareside and when I turn the wheel left/right I hear and feel a rumbling noise! I never feel it when I'm going straight, only when the wheel is turning about a quater of the way! It sounds and feels like when you're on the highway and when you pull off the road the way road is stripped up to alert you that you're running off the road! Thats the best way I can explain it, I hope someone understands!! But I cant place if its coming from the front or the rear! Someone told me it could be my axel but I'm not sure! The only front end work I had done was the upper/lower ball joints but it was making the noise before that was done! Someone please point me in the right direction!!

Since you are having the noise on turns, I'd bet wheel bearing. You don't say, 2wd or 4wd? Does it do it both left and right? Could be a c/v shaft also. Just some thoughts, since we don't know which area it's coming from. Isolate it some and we'll throw more ideas at it.

Thanks akdoggie! Its a 2wd and I've had my wheel bearings done! And it does it on both left and right turns! Also I don't do any off-roading nor do I hall stuff! But the truck was used so I can't say what the previous owner did! Don't get me wrong, the truck runs GREAT... I just gotta know what this is! I'm real **** when it comes to my truck!

Do you have a limited slip rear end? If so, you may need to drain it and refill and add the additive required. If not LSD, then rear wheel bearing. Good luck
