Default idle control sensor...can i do it??

i posted on here yesterday about my 2001 5.4 that started to have a fast idle like around 2500 rpm. i was told to check out my idle control sensor, is this something i can do myself or do i need to take to a pro? i have a fair amount of mechanical background, i grew up on a farm, worked at a coop and now keep wind turbines running, but i must admit that i have little knowledge under the hood. please help

The iac is on the right side of the throttle body if your facing the front of the truck, it's a really simple cleaning job, unplug the connected and spray both ends with some crc electric cleaner, and then unscrew the iac from the throttle body and spray it down and you should be good to go.
