Anyone have hvac knowledge? I went to turn on my ac unit the other day....nothing. Replaced the capacitor....nothing. I'm wondering if my contactor or transformer is blown?

You got a voltmeter? Also, flip the fan switch on thermostat to on and see if the blower in the air handler turns on.

Also when you say nothing, you get nothing at the condensing unit and no blower in the air handler? Or do you get blower at the air handler and nothing at condensing unit?

The unit will just not turn on at all. The capacitor was blown, replaced it and still not turning on. Checked all breakers...they were fine. Can't hear anything at all from the unit itself. When I turn the thermostat to fan,the fan doesn't even turn on. I have no clue man

So when you turn the fan from auto to on, the blower in the furnace blower motor does not turn on?

To check the condenser, just take off the access panel on the side, and push the contactor in and hold it. Push the plastic, not on the metal. And the unit should start running, if it doesn't. Then you know there is no power at the unit. Also check your disconnect to make sure that it is in the run position. And not still in the off position from the winter.

If it does start, then it's your actual air handler. Which you'll need to know what you're doing in order to fix. But follow 051F's advice and make sure the blower starts. I assume it does start as it would have had to run to heat your house that is now too hot.
