Default Valve question

So I'm am going to buy an edge evolution cs programmer but i need to know if i have a 2 or 3 valve motor. What do I have or how do I check?

Well what year is your truck? I'm assuming is a 97-03 since that's the section this is in. If so then it's a 2 valve. They didn't start the 3v till 04 and that was only in the 5.4. The 4.6 3vs started later than that but I'm not sure of the exact year.

Being as you posted this in the 97-03 section you have a 2V.

Any reason not to go with a much better SCT custom tune?

Well main reason being I don't want to spend over $800 on custom tunes. Buying the tuner, then paying the guy to do the tunes. Just a lot.

Where are you getting $800 from? I have had custom tunes on my past 3 vehicles and they cost me no more than $450 each.

Exactly. Add that $450 plus the actual tuner itself your in it $800

Just some advice! For someone that doesn't know what engine they have, you sure know a lot! You might want to READ, RESEARCH and LEARN a lot before telling someone that KNOWS the facts there wrong.

Trust me if I had the money to do custom tunes I would but I'm just a kid and don't have it. And I've read some good reviews on the edge

Well actually now just found 5 Star Tuning and they have a pretty good deal I get a SCT x4 and 3 custom tunes for $399 not bad. I think this is the route I may take
