Default Valve cover

I noticed that when I changed my spark plugs that all four of my coils on the driver side had there screws broken. The coils came out just fine but now the coils keep backing off the plugs esp the number 2 plug, right under the power steering resivor. Is there any quick fix to prevent the coils backing out. Ive heard that changing the valve cover would fix that but if I replace the valve cover would I also have to replace the gasket. Would it be better to buy a new valve cover or a used one that has the screw holes cleared?

I'd buy a new (used) cover, myself. You don't say what motor you have. Just be aware that their are two covers for the V8. Count your bolts...

OK, then you need the Windsor style. They are 13 bolts on one side, and the other is 14.

I wouldn't reuse the gasket... and what side is it? The passenger side is a PITA because of the A/C, heater hoses, etc. Drivers side, just so-so.

The coils screw in to the intake not the valve cover.

My number 8 has that problem too. The factory screws must have stripped the threads out of the intake manifold over the years. I kust a longer bolt with the same thread pattern. The factory bolts dont go all the way to the bottom so there should be a few threads the bolt can grab on to. I also put a few nuts on the bolt so i can tighten it down with a wrench to keep the coil pack from walking around.
