Hey guys! I am new to the forum and was searching for some help through google and threads continuously popped up on this forum so I thought I would join you guys and see if I could get some help.
I am in Phoenix and my A/C has quit working...It has been a mess since the day I bought this truck, but I still love this thing and want to see it through. It is a 2001 SuperCrew with the 5.4.
I bought it from a guy, who will remain nameless, who hid a couple things from me. The main thing that I am trying to get straightened out is the A/C. He did the "fell that A/C? It's cold!" Yes, it was cold at the time because he just added freon to hide the leak behind the clutch which I found with my UV light later. I replaced the compressor, dryer, and orifice tube, but now I cannot get the clutch to engage. I feel it must be a wiring issue but I am not sure where else to go.
The system is maintaining the correct levels on the high and low side but I cannot get the clutch to engage. I have jumped the low side, still nothing. I replace the plug that goes into the compressor because the clip had broken off, nothing. I switch the relay out, nothing. I jumped the low side switch behind the plug to see of the connector was bad, nothing.
Is there some type of other switch in the system that could stop the compressor from kicking on that might have gotten clogged of stuck or something?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciaited. I am in Phoenix, so my time to work on it right now is limited with the 110 + heat in the late mornings.
Thanks guys!!!

That was my initial thought as well so I had the new compressor warrantied and still the same thing. I find it hard to believe that two new compressors would have the exact same issue.

I will check that, but it was working fine before and it does turn on the blower motor and adjust the level just fine. I just have a hard time believing in coincidences when working on a vehicle so I was just examining things that I was involved in.
