I noticed you said the word "spacer" lol. I'll just share my experience real quick. I had 2.5" spacers, and long story short, my tire came off going down the road. The lug nuts did strip, but I've read that spacers are just a bad idea for street use. Yes some people have ran them for years, and some have had the same experience I did.

That'll ruin your day. 2 1/2" is quite alot. If he just needed a 1/4" he could use same studs and be fine. Some get by using same studs with half in spacers. I ran 2" and made sure I checked torque periodically . Looks like you had a quality problem.

Yep, primarily the lug nuts striped, but I just found out a few days again when I took them out of storage that one of the lugs themselves was stripped pretty bad. I guess that's what you get when you find the cheapest E-bay specials you can find lol.

If you go with quality wheel adapters you'll be fine, all the horror stories are from cheap Chinese crap. Look into bora and make sure to get hub centric billet, the 200-300$ range is where the good adapters are. I've had two different sets the last 15k miles, bent an upper control arm, chipped an old wheel, never once had an issue with them, now I'm running 20x12's with 2.5" of spacer.
