Default Urgent help needed Please !

Hey guys as I write this I am trying to replace my shocks on my 1998 4x4. I took out the nut on top and the bolt on the bottom and now I cant take that damm shock out! I'm going crazy trying to get it out. Do you guys know how to take it out? If I cant get it out I'll take some pics and see if you guys can help.

wow ive never heard that before ive always jacked it up by the lower control arm and then pulled the tire and took the top nut off adn then set a stand or block under the front cross member then you just muscle it out a little and vuala its out. New shock in is easy.

Ok I have it like this, I will take off the tire and jack it up. Can I still jack it up although I I took of the top nut and the bottom bolt?

ya go ahead the top shock stud will still be in place and it has washers and bushings to hold it there and the bottom will sit in the cradle

ya its alot easier than you think you just had it wrong see you take the tire off and brace the cross member so the lower control arm sags extending the shock freeing up the inner cylinder and then you only have to compress it a little bit and its completely decompressed
