Default Unknown electrical connector

Alright I need some help here, I found this connector with a cap on it by the fuse box held into place like it was meant to be a test port or something but was wondering if anyone knows what its really for. A little backstory, I installed a set of flex a lite electric fans on my 2002 f150 with a 4.6 v8. I used the grey and black wire on this plug as an ignition on signal wire for the fan controller, but the fans shut off the second the truck starts rolling, which can be a good thing but at 2 mph theres not necessarily enough wind to cool the engine so I'm beginning think I need a new ignition source. And yes I realize I probably should've checked first before tapping into a random wire. Thanks in advance

Here it is with the cap removed
Mounted in the original location

Mike does your truck have cruise control? That looks/shows to be a speed control servo connector. It also shows for the Super Crew and Harley models. What exactly do you have, so to narrow down farther what this is.

Sorry forgot to mention that stuff. It's a 2002 F150 Xl single cab an 4x4. No cruise control, manual locks, manual windows, manual transmission, manual 4x4 everything manual. That makes alot of sense on why it would cut power to the fans as soon as i start rolling however, speed related.

That would make a lot of sense. Of course the wiring would be there for a dealer install add on, so I think we have your connector figured out.

Now on the fans, why did you go to that side of the engine to hook up? All my wiring, using a Flex-A-Lite controller system is mounted on the passenger side of the truck. Are you using the box dual fan set up on your truck? I used the 95 SHO Taurus efan in mine. It has a hell of a start draw, but the FAL takes it without problem. I'd be leary as hell to use an generic brand controller (dual speed) with this set up. It's worked for 4 years flawlessly, so I think I bought the right brand and made the right set up.

I bought the flex a lite kit, it is dual puller fans rated at 6,000 cfm. They came with a soft start controller but it's still quite a draw when they come on. I went to that side because I couldn't find another source, I like the idea of speed related being that I don't need the fans running with the ac at highway speeds but unfortunately turning off at 5 mph off road could cause problems haha. If you don't mind me asking, where d you tap into for your ignition on signal?

Gray/Black (Pin 3) is the input from Vehicle Speed Sensor. It is an AC signal.
Pin 7 (White/Pink) is hot @ Run and Acc. OP seems to have tapped a wrong wire.
