Default True duals

I'm finally getting the true duals put on tomorrow. Going from my SI/DO flowmasters to some magnaflows. So I'm hoping for more performance because of bigger pipes and less restriction.

Here's my current setup

I'm gonna try to get a price sheet and all the specs on what I'm getting. The shop is also going to slide on some other mufflers to see what I want, so I'll try to get a vid of that as well. So I'm kinda doing this to show what options people have and what certain mufflers sound like. I hope it helps.

Hell yea the magnaflows will have a much better tone imo and once they break in should still be loud enough. Likely won't be any noticeable performance difference though. But hey, with that white bed cover covering all the black plastic there, you should color match your tailgate handle

I should see a performance increase, I'm goin from 2.25in crush bend pipes to 3in mandrel as well as higher flowing mufflers. Should be pretty decent but nothing too major

It will sound better with the Magnaflows but I doubt you'll see much performance gain doing away with the rear cats and the 3" dauls. I wasn't impressed with my dauls and flowmasters. I should've put long tube headers and high flow cats on.

Default The Big X:

By "true duals" I presume that each bank of cylinders has its own independent exhaust system. The scheme will not produce the power that can be realised with a crossover or X pipe. Tying the two systems together allows gas pressure pulses to be released into low pressure zones that smoothes the pulses, reduces back pressure and increases gas flow.

But, do as you will....."True Duals" sounds impressive, but is not the best approach when implementing a performance exhaust system.

I'm having a crossover put in, I know it's horrible to put two separate systems without a crossover. I've researched for months and finally know what I want, I just wasn't clear in what exactly I was getting. My bad y'all

3" pipe isnt gonna help unless you have other mods like engine mods, or boost. 2.5" pipe is factory and will help kepp exhaust velocity up and actually produce more horsepower and tq over 3". I've been down this route before. The difference in my exhaust netted me 3hp and 4 ft ll of tq on a dyno. I have heavily modified the 5.4 in my truck.
