Default truck needs lifting

I have an 03 screw Fx4 and I'm looking for 3-4" of lift in the front and 2-3" in the rear. I have about a 300lb+ full replacement winch bumper so I need more lift in the front than in the rear. can I get a block for the rear and some coils for the front end? what would yall suggest. should I look into a leveling kit? Oh and I'd rather not spend a fortune on it. and sorry if theres already something about this but i couldn't anything that really helped me

Get 7700 torsion bars and proceed with a normal lift... There's no coils in a 4x4... the 7700 bars will take care of the heavy bumper

Oh, I didn't see the $$ thing... you could get a leveling kit for $40.00 from suspensionmaxx on ebay... in your case a leveling kit will help you return your front end to a factory or safely "cranked up" ride height!! Geez didn't you try to crank those things up yet?? LOL if you want it back to factory ride height measure from the fender flare down to the dead center of the wheel it should be 22.25"-22.5"

Since your truck is an FX4 you cant use coil spacers, because you dont have coils. But basically you have 3 options:

Crank up stock torsion keys and see how you like that, then maybe buy some blocks for the back.

Buy a torsion key/block lift. Should be around 150. Will lift your truck about 3 in front and 2 in the back.

And last, the full suspension lift, which is a lot more expensive.

IMO, the first two methods will make the truck ride rougher, but I think one of those would work best for you.

Yea, i know you've been pretty persistent on not wantin to crank the t-bars and for good reasons, but...might just have to. And just...my thinking out loud...would all that extra weight on the front do any additional wear on a aftermarket suspension lift? Cuz i'd hate to spend that kinda money and then ya know...wear it out alot sooner. Anyway....just a thought

Ok guys... he is not going to hurt anything by cranking the bars to get the lower control arms, upper control arms, the ball joints, CV axles, tie rods etc. out of thier newly sagged positions and putting them back where they should be!! if anything you're hurting your truck now by not doin it...

The truck won't ride stiff because he's putting the stock angles back... the only reason it's stiff when people "crank" is cuz the LCAs are overcranked and stuffing in toward the ground pushing the shock straight into the frame like this
/-\
instead of like this
_-_ where he should put them back to and maybe a little more.

General lee I'm sure your CVs are angled down toward the front diff right now and your alignment's off as you're riding on the inside shoulder of your tires with all the extra weight, ball joints etc with your 2" drop

Just crank those damn things and be done with it...

And an after market lift consists of a bunch of 3/16-1/4" steel... try hurting that...

Well i was talking more of something like a full 4,5 or 6" lift. Not even necessarily on his truck but one in general with a big ***** bumber and wench on there. I thought those were more than steel, i don't know though...never bought one personally

I would have cranked them but my dad is stubburn as hell so he won't let me crank them until he has talked to somebody that works on trucks. he's too lazy to ask him right now so I'm gona have to wait for him to finally ask somebodies opinion. and the truck isn't being driven right now because I still got a month before I can drive so I still have some time to do all that. and I will not be getting a 4-6" lift. I'm just looking for 3" at the most

If I installed that bumper on my truck today the first thing I'd do is crank up the bars to get my alignment and proper operating angles back... then I'd go to the junkyard or Ford if I couldn't find any and get heavier code t-bars and throw some nice expensive shocks on so the truck doesn't float with the weight... and I wouldn't worry about the weight on my lift... and ya might take 2,000 miles of your ball joints, big deal, they're $25 and take 30min to install.

If you want to upgrade your truck, one thing leads to another so be prepared to spend $$ and chase your tail
