Default Trouble starting sometimes???

It's not all of the time, but when I go to start my truck after letting it sit for a good while, it acts as if it doesn't want to start. It'll turn over about five times and eventually start, but it's not all the time...only on a cold start after sitting for a few hours. I got my battery and alternator checked today at Autozone and they said everything was alright and then told me to get my starter checked out.

Anyone have any other opinions on what this could be?

Took it to a dealership and they told me that nothing was wrong except for my battery was near dead; I replaced it and the problem is still persisting.

It still doesn't explain my other problems of: my radio, dash lights, and windows all stopping function randomly. When I say ceasing function, I mean that I'll start my truck and hear a loud humming or ticking noise coming from the fuse box. I'll take it out of park and the humming and ticking noise will stop, yet all the electronics in the cab turn off. My local dealership replaced the ECU relay, and told me that should fix the problem. Lo and behold, the problem still exists, and I'm out of a total of about $350 trying to get this problem fixed that was supposedly fixed two months ago.

Start with ignition plugs and wires. Regular plugs are to be replaced once in 10k-15k miles. Also check distributor cap just in case.

ECU does nod control any of devices except directly engine related ones. It's definely not the dash lights. If you hear ticking from fuse box it can mean that some relay doesn't have good power supply. Check connectors for water presence. Add another grounding wire to cab and engine (not at the same time) and and see anything will change.

Lets go back to starting problem, cranks but won't fire up untill after extended cranking? Is this correct? If so suggest, turning key from off to on and back to off. This will run the fuel pump to prime the fuel rail. Do this 3-4 times. If this helps then have the fuel pressure tested and see how long it maintains fuel pressure after the key is turned off. Get back to us.

That's good point. I didn't think about what exactly dealership was checking before replacing ECU. I guess they really could forget about fuel pressure test.

Figured out this is a GEM module problem. There's rust from water leaking in all over my fuse box. Should this be a relatively easy and cheap fix?
