Default trouble...help!

so my truck just recently started literally turning off while driving. very dangerous indeed. it happened a couple times last month and today it happened 4 times! one time in the middle of an intersection! power steering cuts off so i cant steer very well and the brakes go to hell and i had to use the e brake once so i wouldnt die. i had a dodge years ago that did the same thing when i was going down a bridge and nearly ended up in the river. anyone have a clue as to whats happening? engine cuts off, check engine light comes on, but the air, lights, and radio stay on. computer problem? taking it to my mechanic on monday.

I am not 100% sure, but there are relay boxes on 5.0 cars, and I am sure our trucks have them too, it could be that or your fuel pump has gone out. How many miles are on your truck?
