Treadwright Anyone???
I've got the Wardens on BFG AT cases on my 2001 SuperCrew. 16k on the tires and roughly 3/4 of the original tread depth. I run the kedge grip and have had great traction on snow and ice. The only downfall is the visual aspect of the Kedge Grip. It leaves so many voids that people think my tires are getting torn up by gravel roads. But boy does it work.
I've actually run Treadwrights for years on my personal and our company vehicles. In over 30 sets we've had one oops. We had a pair mounted on the rear of a 2wd service van and by the time we got back to the shop it had a large bubble on the sidewall. A digital pic with an email and they sent out another tire, no questions asked. I've run them on my trucks, my family SUVs, my elderly parents SUV's and everything that they'll fit on. A friend of mine at church delivers large 5th wheel campers around the country and runs them on all of his rigs. A couple of the hotshot services that come by our shop have converted their F450/550's over to Treadwright and also praise the savings and tire life. Not to mention the members of my off-road club love them too. You feel bad about cutting the sidewall out of a $300 tire, it doesn't hurt near as bad on a $120 tire.
It may sound like I work for Treadwright but I don't. I am definitely an advocate for the great, environmentally conscious, product they provide and the excellent customer service is icing on the cake.

Ok guys, all of the good comments about these tires have me convinced. I just ordered a set of 285/70/17s. should be in this week. Dont get me wrong, I am a rig driver and we always use recaps. So far Ive never blown a tire. we will see. Also am putting a Rough country leveling kit front and back. I have a 2wd but I was told 33s should be ok. The ones I ordered are 32 or so.
Don't let them get hot or under too much of a load. Im a diesel mechanic on semis and see people running recaps all the time. They fail more than people realize. The alligator will separate from the tire, the sidewalls will bubble up, chunks of tread will rip out, and the sections in the recap will separate and cause a chunk of the alligator to separate. Make sure they are at proper tire pressure, don't get too hot (no burnouts), don't run under load for extended amount of time (causes them to get hot). If you keep an eye on them and treat them right you should be alright but id still be cautious. Like stated previously, save a little more money and pay the extra 50 or so a tire for new ones. They will have a warranty as well and it will probably be for more miles.
