transmission question

Default transmission question

I have a 02 F150 4x4 with 5.4L my transmission is out,,i also have a 02 f150 4.6L transmission and transfer case ,,will the 4.6 work in my truck,,need all the help i can get thnx guys..

The different engines have different torque multipliers in the trans. I cant remember the ratios but the 4.6 trans wont live forever behind the 5.4.

will it work for awhile or it just gonna go right out ,,i dont 4wheel or race it

I am thinking you may just need to swap torque converters and you will be good to go. I would ask a trans shop just to double check but I pretty sure.
