Default Transmission

Hello everyone I have 2003 F150 SuperCrew(89k miles) that I am starting to notice some weirdness with the transmission. I never had a automatic transmission before so I dont have any experience at all with them. Past history is I did make the mistake at 60k miles taking it into a Jiffy lube and getting a transmission flush which they then replaced the tranny fluid with their own concoction. Which I know now is a mistake to do. Anyways the problem is that if I am accelerating at a casual pace at around 40-45 mph I get this pause like the tranny is not shifting into the next gear smoothly. Yesterday morning leaving to work it actually happened for 3-4 seconds before it the engine reved, caught the gear, and went on. What am I going to be dealing with soon? Thanks for any help and advice.

hey, i've been noticing the same thing with mine. same year only 102K miles. its been doing it for a while but nothing bad has happened yet. i'm trying to find a kit or something that might fix it. I've found that it goes away for a while after you change the fluid and filter on it but it doesn't last more that 1K mile or so. i'll let you know if i find a fix.

I will do the same post a reply if I figure out what is causing it. I also have some front end work coming up. Probably a ball joint that I got to take care of first so it may be a while before I get back to the transmission issue.

Ford's transmissions are known to act up around 100-150k depending on how well there maintaned, but I would get it looked at and it could be that time for a possible tranny or speed sensor.
