Got it back from the shop. They said it acted up the first test drive and then acted fine the other times they drove it. Now after driving it for a couple hours I'm thinking it's the rear end. When engaging reverse I have a hear a lot of slack. When at a stop light, sometimes it doesn't roll when idling and when I press the gas it hesitates to start moving. At higher speeds like 45-50 letting off the gas, it jerks back like a rough downshift. Time to regear? I think so

Update on this,
Shop said it was fine a week ago, drove two days and wouldn't go into 3rd. Trans fluid smelled smokey. Replaced TPS to be sure that wasn't it. Nope
Back to shop, dropped pan and some nice shaved metal!
Getting it all beefed up, and a bigger cooler for $2500. It'll be back on Tuesday.

Your tranny fluid is contaminated by coolant from the oil cooler in the radiator. The stock radiator is just using a gasket to prevent coolant and transmission fluid from mixing. It's designed to fail after several years.
