I'm probably gonna buy a1997 f150 that the trans is slipping but I have a trans in my 2000 parts truck still it should bolt up and plug in just fine right. I know they changed a few things after 98 just want to make sure before I buy it

is yours a 4R70w or a 4R100? I thought all early 10th gens had the 4R100?
They are interchangeable, but require a little more work if they are different.

Oh yeah my 2000 parts truck is a 4.6 btw

http://raleigh.craigslist.org/cto/4946975162.html

I'm guessing this has a 4.6 too since it's a reg cab short bed. I know they didn't make a lot of reg cab short beds with the 5.4.

I haven't called the guy yet

I have a '97 and it is a 4R70. The only 10th gens with the 4R100 that I know of are the 1999–2004 Lightning, 2002–2003 Ford F-150 Harley-Davidson, 1999–2003 Ford F-150 7700, and 1999–2003 Ford Expedition (5.4). Some years may be off.
